Spanish Language Homestay Immersion Programs in Santiago de Cuba

A unique opportunity to increase your Spanish language skills quickly, examine Cuban culture and explore the city.

        Please note:                                     

  • All of our homestay accommodation is carefully inspected and selected and offers a high standard of accommodation and care.
  • All payments for housing fee must be on the day of arrival to your host and do not include telephone calls or personal toiletries.
  • You will be supplied with fresh towels and bedding every week and it will be your responsibility to change your bed.
  • You must keep your room tidy so the host can clean it every week.
  • Your homestay host will either wash your clothes with the household washing or will allow you to use the washing machine. 
  • All our families participate in the learning and welfare of our students and have all the information needed before your arrival.
  • A twin room can only be shared by two students travelling together. 
  • If, for any reason, you are unhappy with your initial homestay assignment, tell us to request a homestay change.

Host Family Accommodatio​n​

        Homestay with a  family includes:

  • A bed with clean linen
  • Private storage for your belongings 
  • Private bathroom 
  • A quiet place to study, often in your own room
  • Participate in family life with social, cultural and leisure activities 
  •  Meet your family’s friends, neighbors,  and professional colleagues


You can choose from 3 different meal plans depending on whether you wish to share meals with your hosts or you prefer a more independent lifestyle – Bed & Breakfast, full-board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner ) or half-board (breakfast and dinner).
​Students will eat whatever the family eats and help set the table or clear up after dinner. You are also encouraged to participate in family activities or outings.
​Vegetarians or people with food allergies should let us know their eating options when booking so this can be shared with families before arrival.
​The host will provide room in the fridge and pantry to store any food that students may purchase.

As a participant in the homestay program, you will become an extended family member of one of our host families. You can practice your Spanish, learn about Cuban culture, and develop bonds that will last a lifetime. Our host families are willing to give their time to you, helping you to feel comfortable and welcome. Before you leave home, you will receive the address and contact details and a profile of your host and their location.
